Vets’ Clubs Can’t Smoke After All
Thursday, August 30th, 2007

10TV.com reports that veterans halls have been issued the first fines under the statewide smoking ban.
Back in March, Ohio’s Health Department stated they would seek rule revisions that would allow smoking in veterans’ halls and private clubs.
Guess they weren’t seeking those revisions hard enough.

Hotel Report: Holiday Inn Denver Airport
Monday, August 27th, 2007

I stayed a night at the Holiday Inn Denver-International Airport Area while waiting for my 6:30AM flight.
The staff was very friendly right off the bat, offering me a Platinum upgrade and calling my room to make sure everything was ok.
My room was upgraded to a Board Room, which is a room-and-a-half. The half-room [...]

The Service was LSB Divine Service I, but they are going to use Divine Service IV in the [...]

The queen bed I slept in was quite old: one actually sank into the bed, especially if sitting [...]

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

Time magazine’s web site has an article that draws from a new book, Mother Teresa: Come Be My Light. In her writings to confessors and bishops, Mother Teresa confesses that during much of her service she did not feel that Jesus loved her, and she believed that he was not with her.
Mother Teresa had [...]

While in Casper I stayed at the Holiday Inn on the River (local web site / Holiday Inn site). They had offered me the Presidential suite the first night, but I wouldn’t have been able to keep it for the whole stay.
I got an average room with a king-size bed. The normal mattress and pillows [...]

Divine Service at Mount Hope
Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

This evening offered a rare opportunity: Divine Service on a Wednesday night, and it wasn’t even the penitential seasons.
During the summer Mount Hope Lutheran Church in Casper holds Divine Service on Wednesday nights. When their school is in session (starting tomorrow), Divine Service is held on Wednesday mornings for the school to participate. [...]
