Teen Wins Decree To Deny Chemotherapy

AP reports that a 16-year-old Virginia native has been given a consent decree to deny chemotherapy in favor of a herbal method to treat his Hodgkin’s disease. The teenager had complained that the chemotherapy regimen had been worse than the cancer.

Ohio Earmarks

Government Bytes announces the availability of an earmark database, organized by state. Check out the database and click on your state at the bottom of the page.
Some of Ohio’s targets for federal money (keeping in mind the correct meaning of the “necessary and proper” spending limitation in the U.S. Constitution):

The Kansas City Star reports (free registration required) that the Missouri Coalition for Lifesaving Cures is kicking off a campaign to support Amendment 2, a constitutional amendment for stem cell research.
The ballot text on its own looks rather innocuous. The full text of the amendment has some interesting language:
