The Constitution Party on Glenn Beck
Thursday, February 7th, 2008

On the way to work I was listening to The Glenn Beck Program, which was hosting representatives from various parties. I caught his interview with Jim Clymer, president of the Constitution Party. Part of the interview was entertaining, as Beck was playing sultry music while Clymer described the party’s wish to abolish the IRS.
Beck asked [...]

Voting for the Opposition
Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

Ann Coulter may have said that she would campaign for Hillary Clinton if McCain got the Republican nod, but I didn’t think Rush had said that when he said that he would rather see Democrats get the blame for the poor results of social policies to come:
I should have been a little bit more specific. [...]

The Staggered Primary Season
Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

There are several things about the protracted election season I could complain about: primaries vs. caucuses (cauci?), the candidates trying to look superior by speaking ill or lying about other candidates, the media that has every incentive for chaos in order to have something to report, etc.
The two things I dislike the most are the [...]

Republican Debate in California
Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

I’m watching the Republican debate right now at the Reagan library.
I realize that Romney and McCain are the front runners, but the extent that Huckabee and Paul are being slighted (and in Paul’s case lied to as far as opportunity to speak) is really disappointing.
Paul should have cited the decisions where Justice O’Connor wasn’t conservative, [...]

Michael Reagan wants NEWT?
Friday, January 25th, 2008

On Townhall.com, Michael Reagan, the saner son of President Reagan and a pretty good radio talk show host, dreams about Newt Gingrich as a dark horse candidate:

Why Newt? Ask yourself why Ronald Reagan won. He won because he was able to excite a group of people in America that the liberal wing of the Republican [...]

More Government Help
Friday, January 18th, 2008

UPI reports (link dead) that Democrats have introduced a bill to give cash to U.S. counties that switch from electronic voting machines back to paper. The handout is proposed to cost $500 million.
Federal dollars to go back to paper? The federal government bought 5,407 machines for Cuyahoga County, OH, alone, in 2005 for $14.6 [...]

A Ron Paul Omission: Foreign Policy
Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

For his take on domestic issues, I EVOL Ron Paul. The man understands that a limited government is not only constitutionally intended but necessary for a prospering and innovating country. Abolish the IRS, reverse Roe v. Wade, drastically cut government spending, stop government from making promises it can’t keep and taking on problems it can’t [...]

Hillary Dangles?
Saturday, December 29th, 2007

An unfortunate pairing of words in the title of this Washington Times article by Christina Bellantoni. The first two attempts to comment on that title were deemed too coarse for public consumption.
A little more seriously: Hillary has now resorted to playing the sex card — gender is for words — noting on the [...]
