I didn’t have the clearest of weather 10 days ago when I took the first picture, but tonight the weather was clear. I also wanted to see how far up or down the sun would move. I tried to touch-up the June 14 picture, but that made the sun’s disk too big.

Oooguluk Island is a project owned by Pioneer Natural Resources. It is about five miles off the shore near Kuparuk, AK. Access is helicopter-only in the summer, but it can be driven to over ice roads in the winter.
