My sympathies to those (ghp) who wished Michigan to win on Saturday. It was one slobber-knocker of the game, one that wasn’t over until Ohio State got the last first down of the game with 30 seconds left.
I thought for a second that OSU was in trouble when Michigan lost its Coach Schembechler, but then, how much more motivation do you need besides 1 vs. 2, Buckeyes vs. Wolverines.
If the BCS had worked like pageants, where the runner-up fulfills the duties of the winner should the winner not be able to perform the duties, Michigan would be a great substitute for OSU against whatever unfortunate opponent shows up in Glendale. This would have made a great BCS Championship game.
Go Bucks!

A great game, indeed…
Well played (albeit not without boneheaded errors) on both sides. And, as much as it pains me to say it, I do think that the (oh-so-slightly) better team won today. And for that, the “Know Nothing Party School” deserves some props.
I agree that it would’ve been a great BCS title game. Who knows, though - we could get a rematch in Glendale on 01/08/07, provided BCS voters keep their senses about them. I mean, I really don’t see where either of the likely 1 loss teams (Florida & either USC/Notre Dame) could lay credible claim to being better than Michigan. Personally, I’m pulling for Notre Dame next week against USC (I can’t believe I just said that — I think I threw up a little in my mouth…), Florida State to upset Florida next week, and then Florida to beat Arkansas in the SEC title game. That would/should pretty much assure us of the rematch we know we want.
