Missouri Amendment 2 (Cloning/Embryonic Stem Cell): Ugh. This was on its way to defeat about midnight Central time. What a nasty thing to wake up to. I am not liking St. Louis at the moment. Between this show of ignorance and the city’s recent crowning of Most Violent City in the United States, it would seem that the LCMS needs a couple more mission plants in its headquarters’ own backyard.
Missouri Amendment 5 (Minimum Wage): You’ve got the same level of economic sense as Ohioans, which is to say, needs a lot of improvement. We evidently need to start more small businesses so that people can see the effects.
Ohio Amendment 2: Looks like economics school for a little over half of the state. ¾ of Missouri needs remedial work.
Ohio Amendment 5 (Public Smoking Ban): Well, at least we didn’t pass the constitutional amendment 4. This will be easier to overturn when mischief is made.
Ted Strickland has won the Ohio gubernatorial race. Given the RINO-ness of Taft this may not be a big change.
I guess we could strive for first in state tax burden.
Ohio has kicked out Mike DeWine. I only wish it were Voinovich. DeWine had a little too much Washington crustiness on him. Sherrod Brown will give NR plenty of leftist fodder to refute.
Our district has kept Pat Tiberi in Washington. Not a bad thing.
Democrat Zack Space has defeated Joy Padgett. Those commercials that highlighted a $750k loan default by Padgett seemed to be a critical hit.
Since Joe Lieberman has kept his Senate seat despite losing Democratic party support, I wonder how much more independent he will be. The Republican party was secretly hoping for this win; let’s see what their support has bought. One gets the feeling they would support Cthulu if he was in favor of the war in Iraq.
I wonder if enough Democrats have won to keep them from complaining about voter irregularities in the machines they insisted the government buy.

I hope your job doesn’t suffer.

I don’t anticipate my job being affected by that too much. I am not in the Kellogg, Brown and Root division that handles government contracting. HAL is already looking to spin that off with a 20% IPO, if I recall correctly.
Thank you for your concern.

A few facts…
(a) The city of St. Louis has been ran by a Democrat mayor and majority Democrat administration for the past 50+ years.
(b) While it has been steadily decreasing in population for roughly the same amount of time, it somehow is able to create the votes necessary to trump the out-state votes on some of the bigger issues. (It didn’t win on conceal/carry…)
(c) I believe that the St. Louis City wards are some of the last wards in the state to have their votes turned into City Hall.
(d) I’m glad I live 100 miles to the south.
