Robertson Advocates Assassination?

Breitbart.com reports that Pat Robertson called for the assassination of Hugo Chavez on the 700 Club.
The money quote:
You know, I don’t know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we’re trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it,” Robertson said. “It’s a whole lot cheaper than starting a war … and I don’t think any oil shipments will stop.”
I heard the quip on the Pat Gray show this morning in Houston. I won’t say that Robertson was trying to make a joke, but it did sound like something tongue-in-cheek one might say when frustrated.
It’s disappointing to see that calling for the death of political leaders is no longer limited to other religions, but I suppose this was inevitable in a time where some Christian churches pursue social justice in lieu of preaching the Word.
