Human Events reports that U.S. Speaker of the House Denny Hastert believes that after taking national defense and hurricane damage into account, “we’ve flat-lined our spending especially the last two years.”
This comes two weeks after Human Events reported that the Congress aims to spend $1.5 billion on bailing out D.C.’s public transit system and $11.4 billion over six years to bail out Amtrak. On Wednesday, Bloomberg had an article on House Appropriations subcommittee chair James Walsh, who brags about bringing $125 billion a year home to New York in a campaign leaflet.
The only flat-lining seen here is that of fiscal responsibility.
