Over on the right side under the Pages heading is a link to a new feature, “NR Continental”. It’s done using two WordPress plugins, Geo Plugin and Yong Fook’s Plug ‘n’ Play Google Map.
Clicking on a “pin” on the map will pull up a small balloon with a link to a post and the post’s date. There are a lot of posts with locations, perhaps too many for the page to work correctly. I had some errors this morning trying to load the page; it may be too slow between NR and Google Maps. If there continue to be errors like “500 Server Error” over the next couple of days, let me know and I’ll pare back the map’s workload.
Too bad I wasn’t blogging back when I was in Alberta.
Update, 3:37pm: Duplicate data points have been removed, and the map seems quicker.
