I enjoyed The Sixth Sense more, but Lady in the Water is a beautiful, awesome movie.

It is a clear exposition on discovering what you can do and using those abilities to help other people, rather than letting someone else tell you what to do. Some critics have complained that the viewer is beaten over the head with this theme, but I liked the exploration of what happens when people try to perform tasks meant for others.

There were a couple of strange things toward the end, some creatures that weren’t really necessary to the plot. The ending is also quite abrupt, and one doesn’t see the characters after they have learned their roles.

The critics have been harsh, overly so. I enjoyed the movie and the music as well. The composer for Batman Begins does another terrific job.
