Senator Rick Santorum and House Intelligence Committee Chair have released a declassified summary that 500 munitions shells filled with mustard gas were found in Iraq. The report states that more weapons exist and material is still not secured.
Hot Air has video. Instapundit has a transcript. Fox News has an article.
It will be interesting to see if this pans out. Skepticism is healthy: if this is true, why let anti-war activists say “no WMD in Iraq” for this long?
If this is true, then I either have a newfound respect for the government’s ability to cover up or a new low in respect for major media. The media is everywhere. They should have found it and reported it if they were true journalists. Did they choose not to report it because it supposedly supports Republicans?
