Necessary Roughness

LW Divine Service II, First Setting was officiated at Memorial Lutheran Church by Pastor Murray. The choir played handbells during the prelude and sang during the first hymn and offertory. They were a very good group; I doubt I could jump in and join them like some choirs. The Cantor doubled as organist and choir director; the organ keyboard actually sits in front of the choir so the Cantor could perform both roles.

I tried to transcribe the sermon, but my recording wasn’t very good. Perhaps it will show up on Memorial’s sermon page. Rev. J. Bart Day, the headmaster of the school, gave the sermon. After the service, he recognized me from attending a couple of services last year.
