Warning to a certain Wichita geologist: keep your eyes peeled for the Feds!

A CNet technical blog reports that the Federal Communications Commission released a policy document that states you can run whatever you want on your computer, “subject to the needs of law enforcement” (page 3).

Today it seems that the FBI doesn’t like Voice over Internet software that doesn’t let people (law enforcement) listen in, such as Skype or PGPfone, but this is quite the loophole. I have company trade secrets transmitted by my laptop; will we have to get that blessed by law enforcement too? Or is this going to be another case of selective law enforcement (Hat Tip: Burr in the Burgh)?
