The AP reports (link dead) that the Supreme Court has upheld Oregon’s physician-assisted suicide law.
I find it funny that the “liberals” landed on the side of states’ rights and the “conservatives” on the side of federal power, given their normal causes. The federal government can override a state’s right to ban sodomy in Lawrence v. Texas, but they can’t step in to prevent assisted murder in Gonzales v. Oregon. Neither, by the way, is enumerated in the Constitution nor its amendments.
