It's not news that employees who work a Drive-Thru of a fast food restaurant chain may not have a real incentive to perform well. Contact time with the customer is measured in seconds, and because the customer doesn't find out his order is wrong until after he sits down and gets ready to eat, much-needed immediate feedback isn't provided to the employees.

So this morning I pulled through the McDonald's with a relatively simple order:

1 Sausage Biscuit Value Meal with hash brown and OJ
1 McGriddle with only bacon on it
3 Milks

I received my order and got read to drive off, when I noticed two hash browns in the top. I pulled out of the drive-thru lane and checked the bag:

1 Sausage Egg and Cheese Value Meal
1 Bacon Egg and Cheese Value Meal
1 Egg McMuffin

The drinks were correct, and I was charged correctly. Figuring a sack just got switched, I brought it back to the restaurant in hopes of getting my order, and of course I was too late. When I explained what had happened, they asked what my order was again, and they remade it-sort of. The McGriddle sandwich was cold. My confidence in their abilities completely blown, I figured the McGriddle could just be microwaved and left.

Anyone got a better drive-thru or restaurant story? :)
