Necessary Roughness

I ordinarily dislike memes (4^th def.), but I’ll honor one thrown at me by Pastor Cholak, author of the fine blog +the Crowned Ones+.

5 Random Facts (not necessarily the facts I’m most proud of, just stuff I haven’t posted here before to my recollection):

1. Despite the college degree I started out with a job where the company paid to have my name sewn on my coveralls (apologies to Jeff Foxworthy). I was a Well Site Engineer for my first 20 months at Halliburton.
2. In college I participated in a hottest-wing-eating contest which led to a draw between myself and the Student Council President.
3. In high school I was an assistant to the chemistry teacher. During the course of my duties I somehow destroyed two pairs of jeans with nitric and sulfuric acids, and the teacher felt compelled to give me a Christmas gift certificate for new jeans.
4. I am a participant in 4 frequent flier programs (7 if you don’t count Continental-Northwest-Delta as one) and 7 frequent-stay hotel programs (more if you break out all the Hilton and Holiday Inn properties). I have Platinum status in Hilton and Holiday Inn.
5. The Latin subtitle of my blog comes from the Vulgate, from 2 Timothy 3:14: “continue in those things which you have learned and have believed”. My confirmation verse was 2 Timothy 3:14-15.

Who to tag: Amor et Labor was good for a draft once, why not a second time. David Yow has been busy (Congrats on the wedding!), but consider this a standing invitation. Finally, to keep the joke running, Pastor Zill the Confessional Cowboy shall be tagged yet another time.
