I tried to take a picture with my phone of the snow at CMH, but I got thwarted by the glare of my own image in the window. My flight to Louisiana was delayed but only an hour. People on an earlier flight had their ticket canceled and joined us for the 30 minute jump to CVG.
There were a group of young men (and I can say that because these guys were late teens/early 20s) in shirts, ties, and slacks yucking it up among themselves. I walked over to another thirty-something and asked, “What do you think: Scholar Bowl, or Student Council?” He said he thought he overheard them saying they were a lacrosse team, but some of these guys looked a little out of shape for that.
In Shreveport, the Centenary College softball team decided they would sit on the luggage carousel. It jerked too violently on startup to keep anybody on.
We saw Fever Pitch this weekend, and it was a good flick. I appreciated a lot of the baseball history that sneaked into the movie, but there was some Red Sox references that I’m sure I missed. There was one slight at the Kansas City Royals, so I suppose they should feel loved.
My parents-in-law came to our church with us yesterday. When it was time for communion, one of the twins stayed with “Non-nee” while I carried the other to the altar. We took some vanilla wafers to keep her pacified. When communion was done, we returned to our seats, where I remarked, “She could be a good Catholic, going up to the altar and only getting a wafer.”
Yes, the journal has gone football. Apparently I can’t guarantee sidelines on both sides without holding the page size constant. If you’re bored, resize your browser until the hash marks show up on the right. I tried to turn the background 15 degrees clockwise, but the required tile was huge. Within the next day or so, necessaryroughness.org should be pointing here; thanks to all who participate.
Update: Apr. 26th, 8:52 am: The domain should be working now; got good tech support from godaddy.com on how to change an A record online. When your DNS servers update, necessaryroughness.org will take you straight here.
