During lunch I visited the Kilgore Wal-Mart to pick up some razor blades. A nice smiling lady with a Gillette name badge saw me looking at the Mach3 section.

There are three Gillette Mach3 series: Mach3, which is their normal 3-blade; Mach3 Turbo, with a more comfortable skin strip; and Mach3 Power, with a AAA-powered motor that tries to lift and cut. The Turbo line in my opinion is markedly more comfortable than Mach3. The Power’s blades are supposed to cut extra smooth without irritation, but that wasn’t my experience the first time.

The Gillette representative asked if I had used the new Mach3 Power series, and I said I had. I told her that I didn’t think there was much of a difference in the blades between Power and Turbo. She didn’t think Turbo blades (1 dollar cheaper than Power in a 4-pack) could fit on the Power’s handle, and I corrected her and showed her on the package. She asked why I was looking at the Power blades, and I answered that I had tried the Power razor several months ago and was pondering giving it another shot. She informed me that Mach3 Power came out with a new “color” called Nitro. Still green-colored, the handle is styled differently. She retreated to her cart to produce a Nitro and a coupon for up to $15 in value if I would try it out.

You can’t beat free stuff.
