My favorite governor, Bobby Jindal, is in the running to be Senator McCain’s Vice Presidential nominee, according to the New York Times and other sources.
For Jindal’s sake, I hope he isn’t picked.
Jindal has barely been in office seven months. He had been running for the position since I was in Lafayette in 2003. He was elected on an anti-corruption platform that rejected the incompetence of Kathleen Babineaux Blanco. Among the first things he has done is helped pass legislation to making government spending visible to the public. The new governor is on the right side of life issues, free trade, and other issues.
Please, Senator McCain, don’t take Jindal away from Louisiana. He has worked a great deal of his life improving Louisiana, and his work is not done. He needs time to show the results of the implementation of his ideas, which will be good behaviors to follow nationally.
