I didn’t realize until the count read 1498 that I was getting close to 1500. The archive number reads 1695, but that’s because faulty WordPress drafts and currently irrelevant LiveJournal notes were taking up numbers.
I’ve tried to do some things to make the blog easier to read and use. The latest thing is the individual category feeds on the left. Some people just want to see the government posts; others just want to see the religion posts. Still others, pictures and audio. The category-specific RSS feeds let you do this. If NR is already in your RSS reader, those feeds will continue to work.
Even if you’re a lurker most of the time, feel free to chime in on this one. What do you like about NR? What don’t you like? What do you think about the post frequency? Post Length? Writing Style? Types of Content? Tone?
I look forward to your feedback. If you don’t want to make your comments public, you can e-mail them to me so I can still use them. I thank you, the reader, for coming in, reading, and offering your feedback.

I have no complaints about your tone, content, writing style, frequency, or post length. Keep up the good work.
The two types of posts that I enjoy most are the Church Visits, since they give me insight into what a visitors thinks and sees when they walk in the door. I’m not for church growth crap but I do think we should at least be visitor “pseudo-friendly.”
The second type of post that I really like is your hotel reviews… which is odd because I rarely stay in hotel rooms. I dunno… just something different to read. Again, keep it up!!!

Sam, thanks a bunch!
I anticipate a short hotel review in Anchorage, Alaska, the second half of May, and a review where I stay in Alaska may be my most interesting lodging review ever. As far as church visits, maybe I’ll kick in a couple from the home church in Ohio, and maybe there will be one from Anchorage.
Thanks again!

Congrats on 1500 posts Dan!
What I like about NR is the variety. Maybe the government posts are interesting, maybe not, but you keep us informed. It’s easy to miss some of the stories you write about because of the busyness of daily life.
The theology stuff is always interesting but are written in such a manner that I feel even a slack jawed yokel could understand them if he breaks out his here dictionary.
As someone who once travel 75% of the time, I know that those who still need to live out of hotel room must certainly appreciate the hotel reviews.
Ditto for your Church visits.
Again, congratulations and keep up the great work!

I like the variety of the posts, also. I used to travel a fair bit for work (HH diamond for a couple of years; AA platinum), so I like the hotel reviews as well. I check in mainly to read theological discussion, though. So I wouldn’t at all complain if you posted more of that.

Frank and Jim, thanks a bunch.
I think a lot of theological discussion out there is written with the assumption that the reader has had the same experiences and exposure as the writer. The audience doesn’t need to be dumbed down, but they do need more relevant background content than the normal blogger provides.
I’ve feared that variety actually imposes a penalty, in that people would like some stuff and get turned off by other stuff. I think the RSS feeds help that somewhat, as people can filter what they want.
Thank you! Keep ‘em coming!
