Dhimmi Watch has commentary on an article from the Greensboro (NC) News & Record. At issue: someone wanted to swear to tell the truth on a Quran instead of a Bible. Good comments on the site include the fact that the Quran does not advise honesty with unbelievers. Another is that Jews and Jehovahs Witness can affirm to tell the truth without swearing, something Muslims can do, and in Muslim courts there is no swearing on the Quran.
IM Conversation with ssrjazz:
[11:42] ssrjazz: LOL… I wanna swear to tell the truth on a brick!!!!
[11:42] Dan: might as well, neither compel the swearer to tell the truth to unbelievers
[11:43] ssrjazz: but they might throw that brick at me if I lie
[11:43] Dan: so in that case the brick compels even more than the quran. nice.
[11:45] ssrjazz: well.. it compels -me- more than the quran would
