LSB 604 is “I Bind unto Myself Today.” (Cyberhymnal)
The words were written by St. Patrick of Ireland in the fourth or fifth century and translated into English in the early 1800’s. With theologically specific lyrics backed up by “St. Patrick’s Breastplate,” it was no wonder why he was able to baptize thousands and spread Christianity across the Emerald Isle.
I bind unto myself the Name,
The strong Name of the Trinity,
By invocation of the same,
The Three in One and One in Three.
By Whom all nature hath creation,
Eternal Father, Spirit, Word:
Praise to the Lord of my salvation,
Salvation is of Christ the Lord.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day.
