Amy Picard of the Newark Advocate has written an article titled, “Some wonder why number of minority government employees isn’t higher.”
“Some” sounds like a real and appreciable number, right? The only person Picard cites as even remotely curious that the number of minorities isn’t higher is the Newark police chief, and he’s quick to say that he hires the best no matter what their race. This sounds like a real non-issue here.
Kudos to the police chief, the Newark Human Resources Director, the Licking County Sheriff, and the Mayor of Heath for not buying into the standard race rhetoric.
