Please Don’t Tell My Kids

UPI reports that Noggin, currently showing 12 hours a day of kids’ shows and 12 hours of older stuff as “The N” later on at night, will run Noggin shows 24 hours a day after the New Year.
This is a little bit uncool. The six o’clock “We’re going to say goodbye…” song was a convenient cue for us to turn off their shows and announce that it was time for Mom and Dad’s shows. Now they’re going to want to watch Noggin 24/7.
The kids do watch too much TV — they can quote a ton of stuff — but they also get their share of Praetorius, Enya, Sunny 95 Christmas radio, and piano time, of course.

Do they have any good shows for older kids? Like, say, 12 and 9?

Noggin is a property of Nickelodeon and isn’t targeting that high an age group; they are strictly preschool. I’m tempted to write a post and rate the shows. Some I like, and others are worthless.
Were your kids watching Nick and Zoey 101?

No, they usually watch Disney shows like Hannah Montana when they watch TV.

Just saw this and thought of another downside: the new 24hr channel of “The N” programming. Ugh. My kids liked DeGrassi when it was just mildly “progressive”; now its blatantly “progressive”. It’s amazing that anyone ever learns at DeGrassi, what with all the drama, S-eee-X, etc.
