I had two dogs in the fight of the Saturday night game between Missouri and Oklahoma. Either Missouri was going to the Championship, or Ohio State. I couldn’t lose.
I’m with the general sentiment that there should be some sort of limited tournament to determine the championship. BCS + 1, Tournament of Conference Champions, or something that lets us leave all the doubt on the field.
West Virginia losing was the best thing to happen to Ohio State. The only teams that OSU has lost to in the last two years had spread offenses, and WVU had such an offense. The Buckeyes would welcome LSU, I think. I wouldn’t mind sending Pastor Borghardt some Buckeyes. ![]()

yeah, the BCS is a mess.
Here’s my take:
OSU is in.
Then comes the two loss teams… WV and Mizzou are out. Kansas and Georgia didn’t win their conferences. Yes, it’s happened before, but everyone acknowledged that to be absurd. They are out. Virginia Tech got creamed by LSU. That gives LSU a push over them. OU lost to Texas Tech and Colorado. Hawaii hasn’t played anyone.
That leaves LSU. We lost in triple overtime to two winning bowl-bound teams. We played 7 ranked opponents (#9 Va. Tech, #12 SC, #9 Florida, #17 Kentucky, #17 Auburn, #17 Alabama, #14 Tenn). Arkansas is ranked now (#25).
Yeah, whatever happens the BCS as we know it has to change. This is absurd. We’d love to play you in New Orleans… We’ll see..
(BTW.. no matter what happens, someone is grabbing a microphone and proclaiming themselves to be a national champion after a BCS bowl. I know Les will if we play Hawaii in the Sugar)

Oh yeah… and USC.. they lost to Stanford. They are going to grab a microphone too and proclaim themselves the national champions too. Wild Year.
