Necessary Roughness

Priest Holmes, owner of nine Chiefs career records and eight single season records, announced his retirement today.

The comeback itself was remarkable, returning from head and neck injuries sustained in 2005. He started last Sunday and the week before, after Larry Johnson was injured. Sunday Holmes re-injured his neck in Indianapolis.

For all you heard about Holmes, you never heard anything about run-ins with the police or any behavior that was not typical of a man with class.
