AP reports that Oklahoma state Representative Rex Duncan published a statement objecting to the publication of Korans by the Governor’s Ethnic American Advisory Council.
“I object to the use of the state Centennial Seal and the state Seal all in an effort to further their religion,” state Representative Rex Duncan said Monday.
The article quotes the EAAC chair saying the books were paid for by Muslims in the community, but if the Oklahoma State Seal is on the items, where are the “separation of church and state” people on this?
The AP article notes that lawmakers received Bibles published and purchased by the Baptist General Convention in Oklahoma, and they didn’t go through a state agency to do it. The horror.
