CNSNews reports that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sees no harm to Christianity in the vulgar Folsom Street Fair advertisements. I concur, but there was harm done.
Harm was done to the visitors of San Francisco whose money was confiscated by hotel tax to pay for this party.
Harm was done to the proper application of the First Amendment by Speaker Pelosi. This was not a First Amendment issue. Nobody is being censored. Nobody is being denied the right to assemble, in whatever configuration they see fit. Establishment of a religion? I wouldn’t honor these guys with that charge.
Most of all, though, harm was done to the souls of everyone who participated in the creation of the picture. They’ve lied to themselves and to each other, deciding to mock one of the means of grace that would strengthen their faith and save them from hell.
They’re just lucky they chose not to mock Muhammad.

They’re not lucky; they’re smart. They know better than to mock the religion that will behead you.
I don’t see a compelling reason to ever go to San Francisco.

This street fair is so very sad to see. Even before I became Christian, I went there with a bunch of friends, and every one of us remarked at how enslaved all these people were. Talk about someone’s chains screaming….both literally and figuratively.
By the way, I love the concept of your site. The refs crack me up.

Mocking a religion is considered hate speach, unless one is mocking Christianity.
Is it tasteless and despicable? Yes.
Does it harm Christianity in any appreciable way? Not really.
Does it condemn the perpetrators? Unfortunately. And this is where the real damage is done.
