This evening I got to meet Pr. Charles Lehmann, Assistant Pastor for Youth and Education at Peace With Christ Lutheran Church in Fort Collins, CO. Charlie (he likes to be called) blogs at Drowning Myself Whenever I Can. Drowning Myself was the first Lutheran blog I had ever seen on LiveJournal. He writes great sermons, and occasionally his audio may be appropriated (MP3) for use on the Issues, Etc. radio show.

Charlie was installed at Peace With Christ just under 3 weeks ago, so he was still unpacking. We hit the local organic store (like Trader Joe’s) for some groceries, then had some cool sandwiches at a local restaurant. They were like a ground beef hash with some sauerkraut on a flattened philly bun. I could have eaten two. :)

We then toured Peace with Christ. Charlie showed me his office, in which he has a window-unit air conditioner with a remote control. Granted, it was in an inconvenient spot. :D He also has a nice set of the LSB pastoral editions. The sanctuary at Peace with Christ is a half-round, with a minimalist altar and pulpit.

We chatted for a while and drank a few at his condo. I helped load him his car with some borrowed stuff he was returning. It was fun. I may buy his meal next time if they take the right card. :)
