I’m not done tinkering with the new look yet, but I think it’s good enough to go public.

For the WordPress-minded: I’m using a Sandbox theme with a modified CSS template and the normal hacks to get my features to work. It really didn’t take me that long; I was able to do it while I was “on-call” between classes. :)

Several things about this theme are pretty cool:

  • No more annoying scroll bar across the bottom for FireFox users (honestly, that’s what has driven me to make a change all along)
  • Two sidebars let me bring more stuff to the top
  • The random picture on the right looks a lot better against a black background
  • Links across the top bring attention to the permanent stuff

There are a couple of things to work out. I don’t know what I’m going to do with that wide open space in the header. Maybe the Dan Nation Tour goes up there someday.

There are features in this Sandbox theme that I’m not using yet. It looks like this thing does attachments, but I don’t know if I want that. :)

Anyway, enjoy, and if you see something broken, let me know.
