I didn’t recognize Gunnery Sergeant R. Lee Ermey at first, but it hit me after I saw the Gunnery Sergeant and the History Channel lapel pins on his world-abused leather jacket. Sgt. Ermey hosts Mail Call on the History Channel.
We both flew Continental to Houston. |

I did shake hands with former U.S. Senator (R, OH) John Kasich in the terminal at Columbus. He was headed to D.C. on U.S. Air, and I was on my way to Houston. He would appear on Fox that night, if I recall correctly. |

I flew with Lamar Hunt on the way to Calgary, AB. My first leg on Northwest Airlines traveled from CMH to MSP. He had a white polo shirt with a Chiefs logo. |
The coolest travel encounter I’ve had goes to a specialist who pulled Saddam Hussein out of his spider hole. Of course, all these encounters were before I had camera or camera phone.
