Ohio’s U.S. Senators voted today on H.R. 1951, the “emergency” supplemental appropriations bill that stipulates a pull-out date and some major pork (PDF).

H.R. 1951 passed the Senate as amended 51-47-2. Republicrat Voinovich voted for military deadlines, Democrat Brown voted against. Go figure.

The bill had passed the House 218-212 with one abstention and 3 not voting.

Congressman Kucinich wasn’t satisfied with the timetable. Here’s what he had to say today on his house.gov website:

Even though Congress had, and still has the authority to end the war now, we instead gave it new life with last week’s vote.

Now $195 billion, on top of last week’s supplemental, means that close to $300 billion in a week has been approved to continue the war.

Guess he couldn’t be bought with enough pork.
