The Kansas City Star reports that the Chiefs could sell the naming rights to Arrowhead Stadium.
At least they waited until Lamar Hunt passed away. I wonder if Hunt had put the kibosh on this while he was alive. They are also considering putting Hunt’s name on the stadium, but that doesn’t seem like the revenue generator selling out to say, Sprint, would be.
It’s uncertain what companies might be interested in securing Arrowhead’s naming rights. Several of the Kansas City area’s most prominent companies, ranging from Hallmark Cards Inc. to Cerner Corp., declined to comment Friday.
I prefer to keep the name the way it is, but if the name must be sold, please, don’t sell out to Hallmark.

Well, I agree with that 100%, as my husband works for a competitor.
But it can’t beat Value-City Arena, can it?

Value-City, while it does sound goofy, doesn’t hold as much meaning for me as for most, being originally from Missouri. Naming one’s football arena for a company dedicated to communicating feelings…that just seems emasculated. Time to start rooting for the Kansas City Brigade.
