Among laws I can’t stand the most are those laws which require you to do nothing in order to break them.
A website in favor of Ammunition Accountability is tracking legislation in 18 states that forces firearms sellers to sell coded ammunition by a certain date. The Missouri legislation is especially pernicious:
A person commits the crime of unlawful possession of uncoded ammunition if he or she possesses ammunition that has not been coded or where the code has been rendered unreadable after January 1, 2011. Unlawful possession of uncoded ammunition is Class A misdemeanor.
If these pass, you’ll have to either swap out all your ammunition or make sure there’s no bad blood between you and everybody who knows you have a gun.
Legal today, not legal tomorrow, and you didn’t do a thing. I’m glad Ohio doesn’t have this yet.
