7:44 Clear security; lots of quick, short lines.
7:55 Visit Customer Service counter to find gate of unpublished flight.
8:15 Grab breakfast, wait at gate for 10am flight.
9:35 First UA employee shows at gate.
9:59 First flight attendant at the gate.
10:15 Flight shows on airport displays, departing 11am.
10:36 Board plane for Denver.
11:00 Push back from IAD gate.
Mountain Time
12:40pm Arrive at DEN 3.5 hours later.
1:00 Claim agent reports bag is on plane to GJT and will beat me there.
1:20 Pick up rental car from National. Avis and Enterprise were sold out, and Hertz wanted a thousand bucks.
6:45 Fill up in Grand Junction.
6:51 Drop off one-way rental.
7:08 Retrieve bag from United Express counter.
7:14 Get new, cheaper rental from Enterprise.
7:30 Arrive at hotel. Adventure over.
