My laptop was in the shop for half of Wednesday and all of Thursday. The IT guy who resides an hour away in Bossier City dropped it off here in Kilgore this morning. The PCMCIA slots were shot and needed to be fixed. The tech also noted that the laptop was missing a couple of screws. There were also some screws loose inside the laptop itself, but I’ve never cracked the case! I may be a little envious that now my laptop has fewer screws loose than its owner ;) I needed the PCMCIA slots so I could tote around a new 200 GB external drive. USB 2.0 card, disk, and protective case were obtained for under $200. Nice. Now all I need is a DVD burner — just kidding!

Somehow I had twisted my ankle a little on Wednesday, and it was hard to walk on for the last two days. Today it’s fine. I used the opportunity to do some mat work with my abs. 20 mins of various crunches and leg lifts to Duran Duran makes my abs sore, but I’ll take that over flab.

I am halfway through Tim Russert’s Big Russ and Me: Father and Son–Lessons of Life. It’s easy reading; what I have read is more autobiographical than biographical of his dad.

“Killer” at the Sports Page took 7th nationally on NTN’s Sports Trivia. I suppose it helps when the game is played twice a week with the same questions, and he wrote down the answers from Sunday’s game. :) He probably would have been first, had he been sober enough to write legibly the first time!
